Zoho Sign Review 2026: Pricing, Credits, and the Best Zoho Sign Alternatives

Zoho Sign starts at a low published price, but in-person signing, bulk send, forms and the API sit on Enterprise, and many features run on prepaid credits. We compared every plan, the credits system, QES, data residency, HIPAA, the API and the contract terms, sent a test agreement, and ranked the best Zoho Sign alternatives for 2026.

  • Zoho Sign costs $10 per user per month on Standard, $16 on Professional and $22 on Enterprise, on annual billing; Standard includes 25 envelopes per user per month.
  • In-person signing, bulk send, SignForms and the API are listed on Enterprise; Zoho's plan comparison lists QES there too, while its help center lists QES providers on all paid plans.
  • SMS, bulk send, forms, API signature requests, integrations and most QES providers consume prepaid credits at $0.10 each.
  • Zoho Sign has ten data center regions but no Swiss one, and its BAA plan is not published.
  • Sign.Plus is our winner: in-person signing, public forms and passcode verification on Professional at $19.99, QES at $5 on every plan, and Swiss data protection.

Sign.Plus is our top pick for teams that send contracts every week, with unlimited signature requests, in-person signing and public forms on Professional, and qualified signatures on every plan, all at published prices. Zoho Sign fits teams that already run on Zoho CRM or Zoho One, DocuSign fits teams that send a modest number of standard agreements, and PandaDoc fits sales teams that build proposals and quotes.

Is Zoho Sign Worth It in 2026?

Zoho Sign makes sense for teams that already work in Zoho CRM, Zoho Books or Zoho One and want signing inside the same system. Entry prices are low: Standard costs $10 per user per month on annual billing, and Professional, with unlimited envelopes, costs $16.

It gets harder to compare once you need more than sending and signing. In-person signing, bulk send, public signing forms (SignForms) and API access are listed on Enterprise, and so is QES in Zoho's plan comparison, although its help center lists the QES providers on all paid plans. Many features also run on Zoho Sign credits, a prepaid add-on: SMS delivery and SMS codes, bulk send, SignForms, documents sent for signature through the API, integrations and most qualified signature providers. The monthly price is only part of what you pay.

What Is Zoho Sign?

Zoho Sign is the e-signature app of Zoho, an Indian software company founded in 1996. It is sold on its own and as part of Zoho bundles such as Zoho One, and it connects to other Zoho apps like Zoho CRM, Zoho Forms and Zoho Writer.

Zoho Sign sells e-signatures in two ways: per-user plans for teams that send documents from the web and mobile apps, and an API plan that charges per envelope for developers who build signing into their own software. Many advanced features use Zoho Sign credits, a prepaid add-on that sits on top of the subscription.

How We Compared These Services

E-signature is what we work on every day. We build and run Sign.Plus for everyone from freelancers and small offices to healthcare providers, law firms and international companies, and we follow the other platforms on this list closely. The questions below are the ones teams ask most often when they compare tools or move away from one.

For this guide we read Zoho Sign's pricing page and plan comparison, its credits and complimentary credits pages, its help center articles on data centers and signature providers, its HIPAA and QES pages, and Zoho's Terms of Service and refund policy. We also tested Zoho Sign hands-on and rechecked every price on the vendors' own pages in November 2026. Where a capability is marked as not published, the vendor does not state it on its own pages. That makes it a question to settle with their sales team, not proof that it is missing.

1. Zoho Sign Pricing: Every Plan

Zoho Sign publishes prices for every per-user plan. On annual billing, Standard costs $10 per user per month instead of $12 monthly, Professional $16 instead of $20, and Enterprise $22 instead of $28. A Custom plan with its own envelope limits and user count is priced by sales. Prices shown outside the US may appear in local currency.

Our advice: before you compare plans, list the features you need and how often you will use the ones that run on credits. On Zoho Sign, the plan decides which features you can use, and credits decide what some of them cost each time.

How to Read Zoho Sign's Plans

Four things on the page decide what you will actually pay:

  • Standard has an envelope cap. It includes 25 envelopes per user per month. Professional and Enterprise include unlimited envelopes sent from the app.
  • Enterprise holds the advanced features. In-person signing, bulk send, SignForms, signer groups, payment collection, APIs and webhooks are listed on Enterprise. The plan comparison lists QES there too, while the help center lists the QES providers on all paid plans.
  • Credits are a second bill. Features that use third-party services or automation consume Zoho Sign credits at $0.10 each, bought in blocks of 500.
  • Enterprise includes some credits. Enterprise and Zoho One include 50 complimentary credits per user per month, capped at 2,500 per organization. They expire at the end of each month and cannot be used for the API, SMS or third-party integrations.

Zoho Sign Plans

CustomContact salesContact salesCustom limitsFlexible user count, high-volume workflows, tailored onboarding
API plan$0.50 per envelope$0.50 per envelopePay per envelopeNo monthly or annual commitment

What this means for you. Zoho Sign is inexpensive to start, and Professional covers unlimited envelopes for $16. The features that usually decide a switch, such as signing in person, sending one document to many people and public signing forms, start on Enterprise at $22 per user per month, and several of them also consume credits.

Is Zoho Sign Free?

Partly. The Free plan covers one user and 5 envelopes per month, and paid plans come with a 14-day free trial without a credit card. The Sign.Plus Free plan includes 3 signature requests in total, and it supports qualified signatures with separately purchased QES credits at $5 per recipient. Zoho Sign does not list QES on its Free plan.

Dropbox SignEssentials: $15 (1 user); Standard: $25 (2+ users)Unlimited on paid plans
SignNowStarter: $8 per account; Business: $30 per account100 invites per account per year

Prices are per user per month in USD on annual billing, except SignNow, which prices each plan per account with unlimited users. Sign.Plus Professional supports up to five users with unlimited signature requests and 10 templates, and it includes in-person signing, public forms, attachment requests and passcode verification. On Zoho Sign, in-person signing and SignForms are listed on Enterprise at $22. Data residency and HIPAA support require Sign.Plus Enterprise at $49.99 per user per month on annual billing.

2. How Zoho Sign Credits Work

Zoho Sign credits are a prepaid add-on on every paid plan. They cost $0.10 each, are sold in blocks of 500 ($50), and purchased credits do not expire. Zoho's credits chart lists what each action consumes:

Zoho Sign credits consumption chart listing credits per SMS, bulk send recipient, SignForms response and API signature request
Part of the credits consumption chart on Zoho's credits page (November 2026).
ActionZoho Sign creditsCost at $0.10 per credit
Sending a document or a one-time passcode by SMS0.5 per SMS$0.05
Bulk send5 per recipient$0.50
SignForms submission5 per response$0.50
Sending a document for signature through the REST API or SDKs5 per signature request$0.50
Sending a document for signature through automations from other Zoho or third-party apps5 per signature request$0.50
Qualified signature through a trust service provider3 to 52 per signature, depending on the provider$0.30 to $5.20

A few examples make the numbers concrete. Sending one contract to 200 recipients with bulk send uses 1,000 credits, or $100, once any complimentary credits are used up. Enterprise includes 50 complimentary credits per user per month, enough for 10 bulk-send recipients per user. Every SMS code a signer receives uses half a credit, and every document an integration sends for signature uses five.

How Zoho Sign Usage Costs Compare

Sign.Plus prices its eSignature plans per user with unlimited signature requests from Professional, and each seat includes a monthly allowance of requests sent by SMS or WhatsApp: 10 on Professional, 30 on Business and 150 on Enterprise. Bulk send and Zapier are listed as Business features at $29.99 per user per month on annual billing. SMS code verification uses SMS credit packs, and qualified signatures use QES credits at $5 per recipient, so a few actions are metered on both services. On Sign.Plus they are fewer and published in one place.

3. What Lower Plans Leave Out

Zoho Sign's plan comparison gates these features by plan:

  • Not on Free: approval workflows, SMS delivery, recipient authentication, witness signing, delegate signing, automatic field addition and integrations.
  • Professional and up: unlimited envelopes and templates, branding, signer attachments, multi-language signing and reports.
  • Enterprise only: in-person signing, bulk send and bulk sign, SignForms, signer groups, conditional and formula fields, payment collection, controls for 21 CFR Part 11 and EU GMP Annex 11, blockchain timestamping, automatic cloud backup, APIs, webhooks and SDKs. QES is also listed here in the plan comparison, although the help center lists the QES providers on all paid plans.
  • Ten or more users: white label and custom domain mapping are available only to organizations with at least 10 licensed users.

How Zoho Sign's Plans Compare

Sign.Plus Professional, at $19.99 per user per month on annual billing, includes in-person signing, public forms and attachment requests, with passcode verification included, SMS code verification available and ID verification at $2 per check. It also includes 10 signature requests by SMS or WhatsApp per seat each month and 10 templates. Bulk send, custom branding and Zapier start on Sign.Plus Business at $29.99 per user per month on annual billing, all at published prices.

4. QES and Zoho Sign eIDAS Compliance

Not every electronic signature carries the same legal weight. In the European Union, the eIDAS regulation defines three levels:

  • SES (simple electronic signature): a typed name, drawn signature or click to sign. Fine for most everyday agreements, such as sales contracts, NDAs and offer letters.
  • AES (advanced electronic signature): uniquely linked to the signer, capable of identifying them, created with data the signer alone controls, and linked to the document so any later change is detectable. Used when you need stronger proof of who signed.
  • QES (qualified electronic signature): an advanced signature created with a qualified signature creation device and based on a qualified certificate, issued by a qualified trust service provider after the signer's identity is verified. Under eIDAS it has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature in every EU country.

Zoho Sign offers qualified signatures through trust service providers and national eIDs, among them Swisscom for Switzerland and the EU, InfoCert, Uanataca, itsme, Evrotrust, D-Trust and the Danish MitID and Swedish BankID. Each provider has its own credit cost: from 3 credits per signature with InfoCert or Uanataca to 18 with itsme, MitID or BankID and 52 with Adacom. Some providers add a fee per user as well, such as 200 credits per user per year for Uanataca and 500 credits per user for three years for InfoCert.

Where QES is available is not stated the same way everywhere. Zoho Sign's plan comparison lists QES on Enterprise, while its help center lists the QES providers on all paid plans. Check with Zoho which applies to your plan before you rely on it.

How Zoho Sign QES Access Compares

PlatformQualified signature (QES)
Sign.PlusEvery plan, including Free, $5 per recipient; credit packs start at 10 and purchased credits do not expire; eIDAS and ZertES through Swisscom Trust Services
Zoho SignThrough trust service providers, paid in credits: 3 to 52 per signature plus, for some providers, a fee per user; listed on Enterprise in the plan comparison, on all paid plans in the help center
DocuSignUS: Enhanced (contact sales); Europe: paid add-on
PandaDocBusiness and Enterprise, $5 per signer in packs of 10; confirm billing-cycle eligibility
Dropbox SignAPI Premium plus a paid eID add-on; one signer per request; price not published
SignNowEnterprise only, as a paid add-on; price not published

Sign.Plus supports SES, AES and QES in one product, with one published price per recipient, so a team can send everyday contracts with a simple signature and switch to a qualified one for the agreement that needs it, without choosing between providers, per-user registration fees or plan tiers. Sign.Plus purchased credits do not expire. Read more about eIDAS signatures and ZertES signatures.

5. Where Your Documents Live

Signed contracts often hold salaries, health details, ID numbers and account data. So legal and IT teams increasingly ask two questions before they choose a tool: in which country are the documents stored, and which company, under which country's law, holds them?

Zoho Sign runs in ten data centers: the US, the EU, India, Australia, Japan, Canada, Saudi Arabia, the UK, Singapore and the UAE. Three details matter:

  • The region is set at sign-up. Zoho picks the data center from the country you choose when you sign up, which defaults to your IP address, and stores your data only there.
  • Moving is possible on request. Zoho can migrate an account or a whole organization to another data center on request, with limitations described in its help center.
  • There is no Swiss region. Swiss customers are served from the EU data center, with Zoho's EU sites in Amsterdam and Dublin. Our test account, created from Switzerland, was placed in the EU data center.

How Zoho Sign Data Residency Compares

PlatformCompany based inStorage region choiceCan documents move later?
Sign.PlusGeneva, Switzerland43 locations across the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa (Enterprise); Switzerland by defaultYes

PandaDocUnited StatesUS or EU (Enterprise)No
Dropbox SignUnited StatesUS, Australia, EU, Japan, Canada or UK (Premium); US by defaultNot published
SignNowUnited StatesUS or EU (Professional and up)Not published

With the Sign.Plus Enterprise plan, teams in the United States can keep their documents in the US, with nine US locations including Oregon, Iowa, Dallas, Los Angeles and Columbus. Canadian teams can choose Montreal or Toronto, and European teams can pick from locations such as Frankfurt, Paris, Madrid, Milan, Warsaw, Geneva and Zurich, out of 43 locations worldwide. Documents can move later if your needs change. See Alohi's data residency options and our guide to what data residency means for e-signatures.

Looking for a European Alternative?

Sign.Plus is built by Alohi, a Swiss company headquartered in Geneva. Documents are stored in a Swiss data center by default and protected under the Swiss Federal Data Protection Act (FADP), and Sign.Plus is GDPR compliant. Qualified electronic signatures under the EU eIDAS regulation and Swiss ZertES, through Swisscom Trust Services, are available on every plan, including Free. Enterprise customers can choose where their files are stored, including EU and Swiss regions.

6. Is Zoho Sign HIPAA Compliant?

If you handle health information, HIPAA is the US law that protects patient health information. A provider that handles it for a healthcare organization signs a BAA (Business Associate Agreement), a contract that commits it to HIPAA safeguards.

Two security frameworks come up in almost every vendor review:

  • ISO/IEC 27001: an international certification for how a company manages information security.
  • SOC 2 Type 2: an independent auditor's report on how security controls actually worked over a period of time.

Zoho Sign's HIPAA page says the app is built to help customers use it in a HIPAA compliant manner, and that Zoho provides its BAA template on request by email. Neither the HIPAA page nor the pricing page says which plan you need. Enterprise lists controls for 21 CFR Part 11 and EU GMP Annex 11, for life sciences. Zoho Sign's security page lists SOC 2 Type II, SOC 2 + HIPAA, and ISO/IEC 27001, 27017 and 27018; check the audit report for the exact scope.

Sign.Plus has ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification from EY CertifyPoint and a SOC 2 Type 2 report from EY, and is listed on the CSA STAR Registry. Sign.Plus publishes PHIPA support on Enterprise with a signed PHIPA Service Provider Agreement. For Sign.Plus HIPAA support, enable Advanced Security Controls and sign a BAA on Enterprise, at a published $49.99 per user per month on annual billing.

7. Signing Experience and Where Sign.Plus Does More

The basics are similar on Zoho Sign and on Sign.Plus: signers open a link, review the document and sign without creating an account, and both offer apps for iOS and Android. The differences show up in which plan unlocks each signing option, and in what each extra step costs.

What We Saw When Sending a Test Document

To see the everyday workflow and not just the feature list, we sent a one-page test agreement through Zoho Sign in November 2026. A few things stood out.

Our account landed in the EU. We signed up from Switzerland and were placed in Zoho's EU data center, at the sign.zoho.eu address, not in a Swiss one.

Fields are placed on a familiar editor. After the upload, we dragged a Signature field and a Sign date field onto the agreement from a panel of standard fields.

Zoho Sign editor with a Signature field and a Sign date field placed on a test agreement
The Zoho Sign editor with signature and date fields on our test agreement (November 2026).

Two expiry settings with similar names. Under More settings, "Days to complete" was set to 15 and "Agreement valid until" to Forever. The first sets the signing deadline, which the invitation showed as an expiry date 15 days out. The second is a separate setting with a similar name. Check both before you send.

Zoho Sign More settings showing Days to complete set to 15 and Agreement valid until set to Forever
The default sending settings in Zoho Sign (November 2026).

The signer verified by email first. The invitation came from a Zoho Sign notification address with a "Start Signing" button and the expiry date. The signing page then showed the document details and asked the signer to request a one-time passcode by email, which arrived within seconds.

Zoho Sign signer page asking for email authentication before opening the document
The email passcode step a signer sees before opening the document (November 2026).

A document ID is added by default. The signer's view showed a Zoho Sign Document ID printed across the top of the page. You can turn it off, or limit it to the first or last page, in the account settings under Sending options.

Recalling a request is clear on both sides. When we recalled the test document, the signer received an email with our reason, and the original link then said the document could no longer be accessed.

How the Zoho Sign Signing Experience Compares

Sign.Plus focuses on the signing work itself:

  • Preparing the document. Sign.Plus Auto-Place places fields automatically when you upload a document, ready for you to review and assign, on fillable PDFs and on flat documents such as scans and received faxes, where there is no form data to read.
  • Choosing how each signer proves who they are. Within one request, the sender can set a different check for each recipient: a passcode, an SMS code or an ID Check with a government ID. On Zoho Sign, SMS codes and identity checks consume credits on top of the plan. The video below shows a sales contract sent with signing order, buyer verification, reminders and an expiration date.
  • Signing in person and with public forms. In-person signing and public forms are part of Sign.Plus Professional at $19.99. On Zoho Sign, in-person signing and SignForms are listed on Enterprise at $22, and each SignForms response uses 5 credits.
  • Reaching signers by phone. Signature requests can go out by SMS or WhatsApp, with a monthly allowance included in each seat. On Zoho Sign, each SMS uses half a credit, and WhatsApp delivery also consumes credits.
  • Proof after signing. Each signed document comes with a separate Certificate of Completion, alongside the audit trail, which makes it easy to file or share the evidence on its own.

8. Zoho Sign API and Developer Plans

Zoho Sign sells API access in two ways. The API plan charges $0.50 per envelope with no monthly or annual commitment. On Enterprise, APIs and webhooks are included in the plan, and each document sent for signature through the REST API or SDKs uses 5 paid credits, also $0.50; complimentary credits cannot be used for this. Web and mobile SDKs consume credits and may carry extra licensing costs, depending on use and the support you need.

How Zoho Sign's API Compares

Plan levelZoho Sign APISign.Plus API (annual)

EntryAPI plan: $0.50 per envelope, no commitmentEssential: $75.99/mo, 50 requests a month (about $1.52 per request)

AES and QES through the APIThrough trust service providers, paid in creditsSupported on every API plan; QES credits cost extra

What this means for you. For pure API volume, Zoho Sign's pay-per-envelope plan costs less per request than Sign.Plus API plans, and it needs no commitment. Sign.Plus API plans bundle a fixed monthly allowance at a published price, and every plan supports SES, AES and QES, with QES using separately purchased credits. If your developers mainly need a low per-envelope price, compare Zoho Sign's API plan directly; if you also want the web app, verification and qualified signatures under one provider, compare totals. See Sign.Plus API plans and the API documentation.

Single Sign-On (SSO)

Sign.Plus includes SSO on Enterprise at a published $49.99 per user per month on annual billing. Zoho Sign's plan comparison does not list SSO. Dropbox Sign lists SSO only on Premium, priced by custom quote, and DocuSign lists SSO on Enhanced among its US eSignature plans, priced by sales, and on some IAM plans.

9. Check Recent Zoho Sign Reviews

Pricing pages and terms only tell you what a provider promises. Users tell you how it feels a year in. We don't summarize other people's reviews here, because they change quickly and every team's experience is different. Instead, here is what we'd search for before renewing or committing:

  • "Zoho Sign credits" and "Zoho Sign bulk send cost", to see how teams budget for credit-based features.
  • "Zoho Sign QES" with the name of your country or trust service provider, to see how qualified signing works in practice.
  • "Zoho Sign data center migration", if your team may need to move regions later.
  • The same searches for any alternative you shortlist.

Independent review sites and community forums are the best places to look. Sort by most recent, and look for patterns rather than single complaints.

Should You Switch?

If your team already runs on Zoho and sends standard agreements from Zoho CRM or Zoho Books, Zoho Sign is a reasonable choice, and switching may not be worth it. The case for moving gets stronger when you need in-person signing or public forms without moving to Enterprise, when credits make your monthly bill hard to predict, or when a client or regulator asks for a qualified signature, Swiss data storage or HIPAA support at a published price.

Contract Terms to Read Before You Sign

Zoho's Terms of Service and refund policy have a few points worth knowing before you buy:

  • Automatic renewal. Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. To stop a renewal, downgrade to the Free plan or tell Zoho at least seven days before the renewal date.
  • Refunds. Zoho offers a full refund within the first month on monthly plans and within the first 45 days on annual plans, if it cannot resolve your issue. After a renewal you forgot to cancel, you can ask for a full refund within five business days on monthly plans or 15 days on annual plans.
  • Partial downgrades. Reducing licenses or the edition during an annual term earns credit as a subscription extension, not cash.
  • Governing law. The governing law and courts depend on your billing address.

How Zoho Sign Terms Compare

  • DocuSign: annual plans can be canceled within 30 days without penalty, once per customer; after that, the remaining balance of the year is owed.
  • PandaDoc: annual orders are non-cancelable and fees are non-refundable.
  • Dropbox Sign: cancellations take effect at the end of the term, fees are non-refundable, and notice of non-renewal is due at least 30 days before the term ends.
  • SignNow: fees are non-refundable except under the refund policy for first-time online purchases, with a 30-day money-back guarantee on the pricing page.

Canceling Zoho Sign: What to Know

Zoho describes Zoho Sign as pay as you go, so you can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time, and a canceled account moves to the Free plan. Unused purchased credits do not expire, but complimentary Enterprise credits do, at the end of each month. Download your signed documents and completion certificates before you downgrade, since the Free plan covers only one user.

How to Switch From Zoho Sign

  1. Check your renewal date and whether you are still inside Zoho's refund window.
  2. Export what you need. Download your signed documents and their completion certificates.
  3. Map your integrations. List the Zoho CRM, Zoho Forms or Zoho Flow automations that send documents, and rebuild them in the new tool.
  4. Rebuild your most used templates in the new tool first, then the rest as they come up.
  5. Run one real agreement end to end with a colleague, on a phone and on a computer, before you move your team.
  6. Cancel or downgrade before renewal, so you do not pay for another period you will not use.

Adobe builds e-signing into Acrobat Standard, Pro and Studio, from $14.99 per month for individuals and $23.99 per license per month for Acrobat Pro for teams on annual billing. The standalone Acrobat Sign Solutions product is priced by quote and includes 150 transactions per user per year unless your contract says otherwise. See our Adobe Acrobat Sign review for the full breakdown.

Best for: teams that already edit PDFs in Acrobat every day.

Final Verdict

For teams whose main job is getting agreements signed, Sign.Plus is our winner: a Swiss provider with ISO 27001 certification and a SOC 2 Type 2 report. Professional includes unlimited signature requests, in-person signing, public forms and passcode verification at one published price, with SMS codes and ID verification available at separate, published per-use prices, and every plan, including Free, supports QES with purchased credits that do not expire. Teams that need control over storage location, SSO or HIPAA support can choose Enterprise with the required settings and agreements, at a published price. If your team already lives in Zoho and sends standard agreements, Zoho Sign Professional remains an inexpensive choice. Start a Sign.Plus free trial and test it with your own documents.
