  • A public form provides a reusable self-service signing link.
  • It differs from requests addressed to a prepared recipient list.
  • Each Sign.Plus form starts from a prepared template for one signer.

What is a public signing form?

A public signing form is a reusable document made accessible through a shared signing link. Instead of a sender preparing an invitation for every named person, recipients enter the process themselves.

How does it differ from a direct request?

A conventional signature request starts with specified recipients. A public form starts with a distributed link, then collects the details needed to begin signing. In Sign.Plus, Public Forms are published from templates; users enter their name and email before accessing the document.

Sign.Plus Public Forms use a single-signer setup with the sender’s document content prepared in the template. A public link does not mean the completed document is public, that access is anonymous, or that every workflow can use this model. Supplying a name and email is also not, by itself, verified identity. Keep sensitive recipient-specific information out of a reusable public starting document.

Public form or bulk send?

Both can reuse an electronic signature template, but bulk send distributes independent requests to a supplied list. A public form lets people initiate their own request through the shared entry point. Choose the model around how recipients enter the process.

A Common Case: Offering a self-service acknowledgment

A Colorado professional-training consultancy could share a public-form link for an individual participant acknowledgment. Each person would enter their own details before signing, while the consultancy checks that the single-signer form fits the document and avoids publishing sensitive prefilled information.
